Amr El Salanekly, E-Guanabana | Business Development & Technology
I am currently working towards completing a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and management at the German University in Cairo. Born and raised in Egypt, I soon developed an urge to explore and have travelled extensively within the country.
I first joined as an intern in April 2010 and rose through the ranks to officially become “E-Guanabana” in September of the same year. I work on the development aspect of the business under the guidance of both Omar and Adel who act as my mentors .
For me, WILD GUANABANA provides the opportunity to change people’s outlook on their lives by not only organizing “life changing journeys” for them but by getting them involved in charitable initiatives as well as sustainable travel practices, as promoted by the company.
Apart from my university studies and work, I am an accomplished rower with 3 national championships under my belt. I am also involved in several student initiatives and have co-founded a foundation for funding the education of impoverished children in Egypt.

If I could do one thing for the rest of my life it would be to discover the world- every spectacular scene of it and every magnificent flavor.
I was born in Kuwait, attending a multicultural school with students that came from everywhere! I then spent 3 semesters at The American University in Cairo majoring in Finance where I discovered that spending the rest of my life sitting behind a computer screen, staring at numbers definitely wasn't gonna cut it. Instead, I went to study Hotel/Hospitality Management in on of the world's most prestigious Swiss Universities located in Marbella, Spain. I then finished my final year in the little town of Bluche in Switzerland and worked at some of the world's most luxurious hotel chains in London and Cairo respectively.
I've been blessed to see so much of the world at my age and have made life-long friends with people from all over the globe- shaping me into the person I am today. I can absolutely say that I"ve learned the most from travel and my experiences with the people that have come across my path more than anything else. So, to me, journeys are definitely life changing and that is what has drawn me to WILD GUANABANA along with all its positive and sustainable efforts. I love inspiring people to get out and experience what the world has to offer, and doing that daily puts an enormous smile on my face!!
