Geography

Jordan is situated at the intersection of Africa, Asia and Europe. It shares borders with Iraq, Palestine, Syria and Saudi Arabia, and has coasts on both the Red Sea and the Dead Sea.

History

Jordan occupies an area that can trace its history back to the early Paleolithic period. The area is most commonly known from the biblical era. Biblical accounts dating back to the Bronze Age mentioned kingdoms in the north, center and south of modern day Jordan.

Culture

The majority of the citizens are Jordanians and Palestinians, and Arabic is the country’s official language. Jordan’s cuisine belongs to the Levantine cuisine, and has many common traits with the Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese cuisine.

Petra, the Sandstone City. And its magical temples, tombs and palaces engraved in the rose stone cliffs, and the highly salty waters of The Dead Sea and its mud that is best known for its remedial wonders.
