Geography

History

India has one of the world’s oldest civilizations but also much more recent history. India became one of the pillars of the anti-colonization movement when they removed the British in 1947, which spurned countries mostly in Africa and the Middle East to gain independence.

Culture

India is one of the most ethnically diverse countries and is home to many different cultures, religions and sects. There are also castes and tribes within the country with hundreds of sub-languages that are not related to each other. No place on Earth is as diverse.
