Whats next

Once you’ve mastered the ropes and techniques in this course, you’ll be ready to tackle the more technical high altitude climbs such as Gran Paradiso, Island Peak and Kazbek, or perfect your climbing skills further on different terrain by Rock Climbing in Catherine

After arriving in Chamonix, we’ll take our time to settle in to our cozy Alps hotel and prep for the next few days by renting any necessary equipment ahead of our climb. The picturesque town that sits below Mont Blanc is full of shops and restaurants.
First we head into the valley for a crash course day on the ice, learning all the necessary skills and techniques we need from some of the best and most talented climbing guides. After a full day of adventure, we relax in the comfort and warmth of our hotel and get to visit the Chamonix center again for some gourmet dining. The next few days are spent putting our newly acquired skills to the test on some of the world's best ice climbing routes, all under the supervision of our expert guides and with the highest levels of safety. Not to worry, this experience has been designed for beginners! If you’d like to try harder routes, this can also be arranged with your guide.
Today we’re being transferred to the airport to catch our flights back home.

Terrain

With snow covered rocky-peaks rising over 4000 meters off the valley floor, the terrain in the Chamonix valley is unparalleled, creating the border between France, Italy and Switzerland. Beautifully uneven edged mountains decorate the skyline while glaciers keep many of them white year-round. Crevasses are also found all over the place, adding to the challenge of the terrain.

Weather in Chamonix can be pretty hot and sunny in summer in the valley down below and cooler as you go higher up, while in the winter temperature always drop below zero and can reach -20o c much often on the mountains.
