Terrain

We will be learning rope systems and rescue techniques over glaciated and non glaciated terrain, climbing on rock, snow, and ice. The approach to Yala Peak base camp is on well defined paths on rocky ground with a high chance of encountering snow. The route is a scenic one through dense bamboo and rose tree forests that will take you past waterfalls and snow-capped mountain peaks. The trek is known for having one of the best views of the Annapurna Range.

Weather

March - May (Pre-monsoon): The weather is warmer in this season but more unstable than Autumn, with higher chance of snow storms. An average of 10C during sunny days and can go down to -5C on the mountain itself and during the night. September - November (Post-monsoon) The weather is colder than the spring season but more stable and clear. The air is drier and this could be challenging to deal with at higher altitudes, but there are less chances of encountering a snow storm.
