Arrive at Hanoi International Airport and meet with our WG representative. Transfer to the hotel for check-in. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight at the Light Hotel
Hanoi, the modern capital city of Vietnam. Hanoi is a unique city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples. Start off by visiting the Mausoleum of Hoi Chi Minh followed by a visit to the Temple of Literature - Vietnam's fist university dating back to the 10th century. After lunch, visit Hoa Lo Prison. Ironically nicknamed the Hanoi Hilton by POWs during the American War. We end the day with a Vietnamese Water puppet show - an ancient and unique form of puppetry. Enjoy dinner at your own leisure exploring the city of Hanoi and its world renowned street food. Overnight in the Light Hotel
After early breakfast, enjoy an hour guided walk through the bustling Hanoi’s old quarter and explore the sights in the old Quarter. At 10:00 depart to Mai Chau and take a 4-hour journey passing through mountains and valleys. Enjoy a late lunch followed by a walk through the village around this beautiful eco lodge. After dinner, we can enjoy a traditional dance and music performance by the villagers. Spend the night at Mai Chau Eco Lodge.
After breakfast, transfer to Cuc Phuong National Park, you’ll enjoy the wonderful sightseeing along the narrow road through valley of this vast limestone mountain range. After lunch, enjoy a guided walk to explore Vietnam’s ancient forest, hiking through the most stunning rainforest in Vietnam. Visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center. Then, continue to the Cave of Early Man and 1000-year-old tree to admire the ancient features in the national park. Transfer to Tam Coc and spend the night at Ninh Binh Hidden Charm Hotel & Resort.
After breakfast, we then take a short transfer to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of the Dinh and Le dynasties dating back to the 11th century. Drive back to Tam Coc and take in a 2 hours sampan cruise on a river through the rice paddies to the grottoes of the sacred Tam Coc Caves. Spend the day visiting temples and sights in the area. Then, return to hotel, take day room for resting and showering before we take the overnight train to Dong Hoi
Train arrives in Dong Hoi at 5:20am and we take a 1-hour transfer to Phong Na (the adventure capital of Vietnam). Have early breakfast and drive 70km to start point for your 3 day cave adventure. We will have a safety briefing and sign our release forms - check our gear - then start our adventure. We will spend a day exploring the area, featured in the movie Kong: Skull Island and later on, have a beautiful swim in a nearby lagoon. Overnight at campsite.
Wake-up in your jungle campsite and have an early breakfast prepared by our porter team. You and the team will need to trek and climb over hills before reaching the beautiful waterfall, where a splendid lunch awaits you.After lunch, the guide will lead your trek though Hung Nhai Valley. You then will reach a tranquil magnificent blue lagoon located right in the middle of the jungle surrounded by rocks. Take you time to enjoy a refreshing swim or moments to take some great photos when the sun goes down. While you set up camp and change into dry clothing, the porters will prepare a fulfilling BBQ dinner for you. Overnight at campsite
Begin the day with breakfast overlooking the lagoon. Prepare for a little hike and climbing scramble for around an hour. You will then be greeted by the first cave - Hang Tien 1. Continue deep into Hang Tien 1, climb the ladder, and view the cave exit. By 11:00AM you will be craving your picnic lunch here before the 30 minutes trek to Hang Tien 2. The subterranean world, known as Hang Tien 2, welcomes you with a tiny entrance and a slippery descent. Only 300m inside, and you will be mesmerized by the many formations and the vastness of what is believed to be the largest cave in the Tu Lan Cave System. After finishing your cave adventure you will be transported out for a quick shower before overnight at ChapLay Farm Stay.
Early departure from Phong Na to Hanoi. At leisure until your flight, if your flight back is late feel free to go into Hanoi for last minute shopping. Please do not book flights earlier than 12:30 pm to make time for morning flight to Hanoi.
