History

Arguably the oldest civilization that dates back around 7,000 years - the Pyramids stand in Giza as a testament to the greatness of the Pharaonic civilization. Egypt has strong historical roots in most all eras - whether the Pharaonic, Coptic, Islamic or the Ottoman era.

Culture

Even today, the Pharaohs have left a major cultural imprint on Egypt, many cultural norms date back to that era. On the other hand, the Nubian culture to the South in Aswan and the Bedouin culture to the East are unique and showcase a way of life that is all but eroded in the modern day world.
